Justification can feel like a negative word. Afterall, people are always trying to justify themselves. But for Christians, justification is a beautiful word. Justification is what God has done for us through his Son Jesus. This week we see from Romans 4 that it is not we who justifies ourselves, but God who justifies us through faith. Knowing that we are justified by faith we are free to admit our mistakes, trusting in God who justifies us by faith in Christ.

How can we be declared “not guilty” before God? We’re always trying to self-justify ourselves, but that’s not going to work with God.
